Offered to groups of varying sizes, this soothing meditation practice is thirty- five minutes long. Each session begins with an orientation to the day’s theme and ends with debriefing and discussion. Participants find they feel more relaxed and at ease following iRest. The Practice

A guided meditation practice for self-regulation and self-care, iRest is based in the physical body and provides lasting benefits to counteract the stresses of daily life. We begin by finding a comfortable position, lying or seated. The facilitator then guides participants on a 35 minute journey involving setting intentions, scanning the physical body, exploring the breath, welcoming emotions, thoughts and beliefs, experiencing joy, and finally resting in pure awareness.

Therapeutic Yoga

Eliminate pain through reducing compensatory patterns and learning functional movements. If you experience chronic pain, therapeutic yoga is for you. It is also an effective tool for working with anxiety and depression. Classes can be one-on-one or group. No experience necessary.

Group Classes

A therapeutic yoga class is similar to a regular yoga class with a greater emphasis on reducing compensatory patterns. That is, the goal is to determine how your body might be compensating and to replace those movements that may lead to pain with more adaptive and functional ways of moving. Each class is an hour long and builds on previous classes.

Private Classes

Are you experiencing pain that you’re unable to get rid of? A private session may be for you. Here I assess how you’re moving, keeping in mind where you’re experiencing pain. From there I apply new movements and strategies with the goal of diminshing and eventually eliminating your pain.

The Benefits

Therapeutic yoga increases students’ mind-body connection while reducing pain. Students learn to reduce their compensations, and improve their mobility, stability and flexibility. Students also cultivate awareness of tension or holding patterns in the body which in turn can lead to reduced anxiety or depression and a greater sense of well-being.

Who is Yoga for?

Therapeutic yoga is for anyone and everyone who would like to develop a greater sense of bodily awareness and learn to move their body optimally. From those who desire to be free from pain to those who wish to improve their athletic abilities, from the absolute beginner yogi to the advanced practitioner, all bodies can benefit from therapeutic yoga.

iRest Testimonials

iRest has been very beneficial so far. Erin is a great instructor, very calming and emotionally supportive. She makes everyone feel at ease, and creates a safe space for us all to feel comfortable really committing to the practice. With our emotionally heavy jobs, it is important to take time to focus on our own feelings and iRest has given me the time and space to listen to my mind and body. I really feel practicing iRest has allowed me to feel calmer and more prepared to deal with big emotions that come my way. Thank you Erin!

Terri - Eight week course participant

I have been thoroughly enjoying the iRest yoga with Erin . She is an amazing instructor. The yoga has helped me feel calm emotionally and has helped me understand my feelings better. iRest has helped me improve my sleep and reduce my stress and anxiety. It has also improved how I manage pain. It is a great tool to help eliminate negative thoughts and see the better in life. I’m looking forward to more sessions.

Sophia - Eight week course participant

I have enjoyed so much the iRest meditation. It has been so good for me. I really like how Erin has taken the time to explain and prepare us for what to expect during this time. After the 8 weeks we have been practicing, I have found that I can manage my emotions better, I can feel and not react as fast as I used to. I feel more calm and less stressed than before. I wasn’t expecting much from it at the beginning but now I cannot wait for that time on Fridays. It is very relaxing, and I can see the effects progressing during the following days. I strongly recommend it and I would love to keep practicing in the future.
