What brings me back to the blog, you might ask. Well, as you can see, this blog just happens to be attached to a shiny new website showcasing some of my new meditation and yoga offerings. Both my students and I have been having a lot of fun with iRest yoga nidra which has also been gloriously insightful in my everyday life. And so, naturally I’ve decided to start offering iRest more widely.

Life becomes easier when we learn to take responsibility for our emotional triggers instead of blaming external circumstances or other people. We have very little or no control over what happens out there, but we can learn to control our own emotional responses and regulate our own nervous systems.

Opening to Inherent Joy

The type of joy that is dependent on things out there in the world is fleeting. Once we obtain the object of our desire, we’re only happy for a short time before we move on to the next thing. But there’s another kind of joy which is innate within us. It’s the absolute joy that comes with us into this world and often gets veiled by our trauma and the complexities of our lives.
