Counselling Therapy and Meditation Services

I am a Dartmouth, Nova Scotia based counselling therapist offering services both in person and online. I believe that at our core, we are all healthy, whole and vibrant, however, many of us have been wounded or suffered trauma which led to disconnection from our authentic self. Therapy is one way to reconnect to our innate well-being while healing our trauma and coming to understand how our attachment wounds and conditioning may be affecting our lives. I offer a safe space from which to explore these issues as well as techniques for regulating your nervous system and healing trauma.

As a Registered Counselling Therapist (candidate), I offer counselling services to individuals facing a variety of issues, using therapeutic modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and mind-body practices, among others. In addition, I am a level 1 iRest® Meditation teacher and offer meditation services and therapeutic yoga to both groups and individuals.

Erin  Lecky, MA, RCT-C, level 1 iRest® Meditation Teacher

My personal journey into self-discovery began with an undergraduate psychology degree. From there, I ventured into more esoteric realms with a master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology. It was during this time I realized traditional psychology might not be telling us the complete story of what it means to be human. I discovered that in addition to having a healthy ego self, connecting to our deepest inner nature, or that which goes beyond the ego, is essential to our well-being.

My Approach and Philosophy

I believe at our core, there is a place in each one of us that doesn’t need healing. It is already whole, healthy, and peaceful just as it is. Our challenging life experiences and childhood trauma as well as familial, cultural and societal conditioning often veil our true nature and we come to identify with our programming while forgetting who we really are. Fortunately there are practices, techniques and therapeutic modalities that enable us to re-connect to our essential nature while coming to understand our emotional makeup, reactive states, and self-sabotaging behaviours. Some of the practices I work with to restore balance and harmony to the nervous system and mind are Internal Family Systems, inner child work, mindfulness, yoga and meditation, breath-work, dream work, energy work, inner critic work, chakra psychotherapy, guided imagery, art therapy, transpersonal psychotherapy and body psychotherapy, among others. During my sessions, I engage in a person-centred approach, so you choose how you’d like to proceed while I offer suggestions, guidance and a safe, non-judgmental space where healing can take place and where you can come to access that place within that is already healthy and whole.
